What is included in a consult?

Once a consultation booking is confirmed, you will receive a Client Intake Form to fill out before your consult. This will feature some basic questions such as determining what your main usage needs are, for example streaming services, gaming, public Wi-Fi. This expediates the process so that no time is wasted during the consultation.

Upon arriving at your location, the specialist will conduct an assessment of the security settings and protocols of your network and devices such as laptops and phones.

The specialist will then make recommendations of what to fix to reduce vulnerabilities and improve your cyber security defence.

You can then indicate which (if any) of the recommendations you want the specialist to implement.

Once the specialist has remediated the vulnerabilities selected, they will then provide some education about how to identify malicious emails and messages, as well as what to do in the event of a future security breach.

Within 24hrs after the consultation, you will receive a summary report of the work completed and an invoice to be paid within 15 days.

What is NOT included in a consult?

Local Defence Brisbane specialises in affordable defensive cyber security. General I.T work such as computer repairs, data recovery, server setup and NBN cabling are out of scope as there are plenty of general I.T services in the area who specialise in those fields.

What are the fees?

There is no call-out fee for a consult, and the consultation is charged at an hourly rate with a minimum of one hour. After the first hour the rate is charged every quarter of an hour, so you are only paying for the specialist’s time. Most household consultations will take an hour but more complicated setups like small businesses may require longer.

Can Local Defence Brisbane guarantee I won’t be hacked?

The short answer is no. Cyber security is an ever-evolving landscape as hackers are constantly developing new ways to penetrate defences. What may be secure now, might have known vulnerabilities a year from now. Even billion dollar corporations with full-sized 24hr dedicated security operations centres still get hacked. What we CAN guarantee is we will make recommendations in line with the gold standard of security policies at the current time.
